I keep pretty busy here at SAC! I joined the library faculty in the Fall of 2002 as the Distance Learning Librarian. It is my mission to promote and help support library resources and services to distance education faculty and students.
I also enjoy working with my colleagues at the Reference Desk and teaching Library Instruction, as well as building the library's collection in Architecture, Visual Art, Music, Theatre, Speech, Communication, Radio Television Film, and Education. My service to the college includes: Women's History Week committee, Teaching with Technology committee, Technology Advisory Council and two consecutive 3-year terms in the SAC Faculty Senate from 2009-2015. I currently have the honor and privilege of co-directing the college's Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) entitled Fearless Learning: Empowering Students with Information Literacy.
My professional memberships include: American Library Association, the Association of College and Research Libraries and the American Association of University Professors. I am a past member of the Texas Library Association, serving on the Program Committee which planned the TLA 2010 Conference held here in San Antonio, TX. I also served as President of the SAC Chapter of the AAUP from 2013-2016.
I love cooking, listening to live music, reading, watching movies, traveling, dancing and delighting in all the ironies of modern life. Nature fascinates me. Purposeful ignorance enrages me. I laugh a lot. I cry sometimes. I like a good Tex-Mex taco and am a friendly introvert. I'm also a retired 2nd fiddler from the Symphony of the Hills in Kerrville, TX, and was a mariachi for one year. I currently perform with the local baroque ensemble Sonido Barroco.
