Style Guidelines

We will follow:

email (no hyphen)

ebook (or Ebook for capitalization)

ejournal

eresource

Assign Tags, Subject, Types & Groups

Assigning Types, Subjects, Groups and Tags

  • Subjects and Tags are located under the Title of the guide. You may use multiple Subjects. 
  • Tags don’t require an underscore _. Use lower case, unless it’s a proper noun.
  • Groups and Types may be assigned when creating a guide; or by using on the top right-hand side.
  • Use only two Types for public guides: Course Guides and General Purpose Guides. For staff guides you may use Internal Type.
  • To collect statistics for guides used for instruction, assign them to Course Guide Group, for both types: Course Guides and selected General Purpose Guides.

Course Guides [ABC 1001-001: Name of the Course (Last Name of the Professor)]

  • Type: Course Guide
  • Group: Course Guides
  • Subjects: assign relevant Subjects (one or more)

General Purpose Guides (all other research guides)

  • Type: General Purpose
  • Group: don’t assign a group 
  • Subjects: assign relevant Subjects (one or more)

How To Guides (Citing, Policies, etc.)

  • Type: General Purpose
  • Group: don’t assign
  • Subjects: assign relevant Subjects (one or more)
  • Tag: how to
