Welcome Ms. Thurmond and Students!

Hey! This LibGuide will help you through the process of research for your project. Feel free to contact me if you need help at any time.

1. Define Topic: What do you know? Verify with Background Info.

2. Devise Strategy: What do you want to find out? List keywords.

3. Search Sources: Look at Books, Articles, web sites, etc.

EVALUATE what you're doing: Change your keywords/database; Are you finding appropriate items?

Your first assignment is to find biographical information on an assigned composer:

We're talking when and where they were born, when and where they died, nationality, personal life (family, health, personality), career (significan places, people, employers or patrons, means of earning a living, financial situation), and music (style of composition, general characteristics, types of compositions they wrote).

You have to find at least 3 different sources and document them using MLA style. Only one source can be a website, and it must be CREDIBLE. Online eBooks or articles from a library database is not considered a "website." You may use your textbook as a fourth source, but not as one of your three main sources.
