Searching as Strategic Exploration

What is a peer-reviewed journal article?  Before an article is published by a scholarly journal, it is reviewed by the journal's editor and experts or peers in the same academic field.  This means that what appears in the scientific literature is more likely to be of a higher quality because it has been subjected to some level of critique.

Library Assignment:

Find a peer-reviewed article on topics related to student success, such as motivation, procrastination, note taking, time management.

On a sheet of paper, answer the following questions:

  • What topic did you research?
  • List the keywords you used.

  • Explain why you did, or why you did not like your search results.
