Emphasis is placed on new material published within the last five years. When a new edition of a work is published, older editions will be removed.

All formats may be collected. Serials are heavily relied upon for current material and textbooks provide background information. Audiovisual materials will be reviewed for selective additions to the collection.
All materials will be considered for de-selection within three to five years of publication. All superseded editions will be removed from the shelves. Only material containing historic value or consumer interest will be retained beyond the five year period.
