Ascender Learning Community

About Ascender:

The Ascender Program provides academic, emotional-social, and community supports for Latinx and other underserved community college students to increase the number of students who successfully complete developmental coursework, increase the number of students who successfully complete first-year college-level coursework in gatekeeper courses such as English and Math, and increase the number of students who graduate from the community college and transfer to a four-year college or university. 

Objectives

The main objectives of this conference are to bring together Catch the Next - Ascender students in a collaborative environment to gain insight from university representatives on topics such as:

• Learn about the University Admissions processes

• Learn about the University Financial Aid processes

• Learn about the transferring of credits from community college to a university

• Learn about housing options

• Learn about career planning and time management skills required to transfer to a four year university
